Hazardous chemical reporting requirement aims to fill major gaps

After close to a decade of trying, a new requirement for New Zealand businesses will allow the environmental regulator to get an idea of the scale of hazardous chemical usage in Aotearoa.
Currently, the Environmental Protection Authority has scant figures for chemical usage in New Zealand, even for potentially harmful chemicals facing international scrutiny, such as the herbicide glyphosate.
